We are learning about oviparous animals this week in science. The students loved listening to Chickens Aren't the Only Ones by Ruth Heller and discovering which animals come from eggs. I have created What is in the egg? as a reading station for this week and next. My students love to play games together. They can be at this station for cvc words and sight words. I can differentiate the cvc station for my groups since I included the dolch words for kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. I also differentiate the sight word station by only using the words that each group is able to read. I want to make sure my students are fluent with their sight words and not "guessing" when they are reading.

ReplyDeleteThis posting reminded me of a funny story. I dyed Easter eggs with my two granddaughters. I had cooked the eggs at home; so, they didn't see me boil them. After they were dyed, we decided to eat the one that had a crack in it. They couldn't believe what was inside because they had never seen the inside of a boiled egg before! I think they believed the eggs changed because we dyed them.
