My students love, love, love our new Superhero Sight Word Fluency!!!!!! Each student has a folder with their superhero nametag on it. Inside the folder, they have a sticker chart. Everyone starts at week 1. They grab a sand timer and a partner and they try to read all of their words correctly before the timer runs out. When they are able to do it, then they come to me and I listen to them read with the timer. Then, I give them a sticker to put next to week 1. Then, they are ready to start week 2.
I waited a few weeks before I started this because I wanted them to be comfortable with their sight words so they would be successful. Well, they were so excited to see they could do it!!!! They do not want to stop!!! We actually had to talk about when they could work on it--like they can't take out a fluency sheet while we are having a math lesson :) and they must do their reading stations first before they go to fluency.
Thank goodness for my parent volunteers!! They were introduced to sight words and timers this past week so I could work on other things. I felt like our room was chaos with everyone reading out loud to their partner and trying to earn their stickers but.........my parents told me they were so impressed with how much their children were learning :) Yay!! I needed to hear that!!!!
I would love to give away 3 copies :) :) If you leave a comment, I will pick 3 winners and email you :) You can also find at TpT and TN.
